Hey Hey! I’m Monica, and I am so glad you are here!
Just a few tidbits about me and my training…
I earned a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University and a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. I’m a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate in the state of NC.
I believe (because it’s backed by research) that therapy “works” best if there is a mutual fit between client and therapist. That being said, I work best with anxious college students, exhausted moms, and individuals dealing with body image and disordered eating concerns. Because I know my strengths, I am not shy about my weaknesses, so if I do not believe I can help you I will absolutely help you find someone who can!
If you desire to feel seen, understood, and unconditionally supported - you are in the right place. I genuinely believe you are fully capable and worthy of living a deep, meaningful, and authentic life. I also believe sometimes things just suck, and the only way out is through - but we don’t have to go through it alone. Therapy is a place to find support as you learn to navigate your way through life. In session, I lean on empathy and humor to create a safe space to creative and cultivate personal growth.
I will actively and compassionately journey alongside you as you move towards healing. My desire for everyone is to leave my office equipped with self-compassion, self-awareness, and whatever necessary tools are needed to feel empowered to live a values-aligned life.
Let’s get to know each other better!

-
Phoenix Alexander
Certified Good Boy
Phoenix has always had big goals of becoming a therapy dog, but has taken a. slower path to legit certification - choosing to let his mom grow first. Phoenix understands anxiety at a SOUL LEVEL.

Champ
Certified in Street Smarts
Champ is recently rescued form the cold streets of Western, NC. He definitely acts like a dog who could survive out there on his own but is adapting nicely to having a roof and other playmates. However, he doesn’t have a therapeutic bone in his tiny little body… yet.
